Fairfax County Police have arrested Zion Gibbs, 22, of Lorton, in connection with multiple destruction of property incidents at a local homeowner's community center, which resulted in approximately $8,000 in damages.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division conducted a surveillance operation near the community center at 9050 Lorton Station Boulevard. Since July 9, a masked suspect, seen wearing a "Scream" style mask, black robe, fluorescent gloves, and white shoes with fluorescent laces in surveillance footage, had committed six acts of vandalism, damaging windows with rocks, a hammer, and cinder blocks.
On August 17, detectives observed Gibbs walking in the area and later returning in the distinctive costume. He was apprehended after allegedly retrieving bricks and running towards the center. Gibbs was charged with three felony counts of Destruction of Property, three misdemeanor counts of Destruction of Property, and Wearing a Mask in Public. He is currently held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Franconia Police Station.
