Total Nutrition Inc. has issued a voluntary recall for its TNVitamins Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood and Doctor’s Pride Complete Green Superfood Ultra Potent Moringa Capsules due to potential Salmonella contamination, posing serious health risks, especially for vulnerable populations.
Salmonella can cause severe infections, including fever, diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain, and in rare cases, more serious illnesses like arterial infections or endocarditis. The affected 120-count capsule products were sold nationally through online platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and Target.
The recall was initiated after notification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding an ongoing investigation into moringa-containing dietary supplements. Total Nutrition Inc. has halted distribution and sales, and is removing the identified products from all channels.
The recalled products are packaged in white HDPE supplement bottles with smooth, white caps and 120 clear capsules filled with green moringa powder. The specific affected lots are:
