The Washington Post is reporting that record heat is expected to affect 22 states this week. It said the most intense conditions are forecast for the Intermountain West, Plains and South. Temperatures are predicted to exceed 90 degrees for approximately 50 million people, with 11 million more expected to experience temperatures topping 100 degrees.
