The U.S. Department of War, through its Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401), has significantly enhanced its counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) marketplace to streamline how military organizations, domestic law enforcement, and international partners identify, evaluate, and acquire validated counter-drone technologies.
Developed in collaboration with Kaizen Laboratories, this improved application enables users to rapidly pinpoint proven solutions, facilitating clearer procurement pathways and accelerating fielding timelines. U.S. Army Maj. Mike Hapner, C-UAS marketplace lead for JIATF-401, said, "Our revolutionary marketplace, powered through our partnership with industry, creates a streamlined, trusted pathway for the Joint force, domestic law enforcement, and our international partners to rapidly discover and acquire validated technologies."
The marketplace also supports the Secretary of the Army's Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Fast Lane initiative by integrating with existing acquisition processes to expedite requirements development and reduce FMS timelines. JIATF-401, in partnership with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Defense Exports & Cooperation, evaluates and pre-clears products for FMS, ensuring seamless integration across forces and allies.
Brig. Gen. Matt Ross, director of JIATF-401, emphasized the urgency, saying, "Drones are a defining threat of our time." He added that the proliferation of small drones necessitates faster action to protect critical infrastructure and defense assets, with the expanded marketplace allowing for global sharing of best practices and equipment.
