Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is gearing up for a busy Labor Day travel weekend, welcoming passengers with significant new facilities and amenities designed to enhance the travel experience. The end of summer marks a peak travel period, and recent upgrades aim to make journeys smoother for all visitors.
Travelers will notice major improvements, including the C Concourse Expansion, which features roadway enhancements, and the newly completed SEA Gateway. This gateway project brings substantial capital upgrades, such as renovated restrooms, real-time checkpoint wait time tracking, updated transit feed displays, and a variety of new dining and retail options, alongside engaging art installations.
Additionally, the airport's parking garage is undergoing elevator refurbishment, with intermittent closures affecting some banks, including the yellow and certain purple cabs. Passengers are advised to follow signs directing them to alternative elevator banks for convenient access. SEA, operated by the Port of Seattle, served over 52.7 million passengers in 2025 and has been recognized as the Best Airport in North America for three consecutive years.
