Natalya Ivanovna Mazulina, also known as “Natasha Mazulina,” a 43-year-old resident of Federal Way, Washington, was sentenced today in federal court in Brooklyn to 18 months in prison for orchestrating a scheme to circumvent U.S. export laws related to Russia. Mazulina, who served as the Western Regional Manager for Delex Air Cargo LLC, a freight forwarding company, was also ordered to forfeit $77,000 in criminal proceeds.
Mazulina was arrested in December 2024 and subsequently pled guilty in October 2025 to conspiracy to violate the Export Control Reform Act. Her scheme involved unlawfully shipping controlled industrial oil and gas equipment from the United States to Russia, utilizing intermediary countries to mask the true destination.
United States Attorney Joseph Nocella, Jr. underscored the gravity of the offense, saying, "The Russian oil and gas industry is the lifeblood that fuels the Russian war machine. This defendant put her own profits above the national security of the United States by conspiring to illegally export industrial oil and gas equipment to Russia." FBI Assistant Director in Charge James C. Barnacle, Jr. added that Mazulina "bolstered Russia’s military capabilities and jeopardized our country’s security by violating U.S. export regulations."
The illicit operation ran from at least December 2022 through December 2024. Mazulina attempted to conceal the shipments by submitting false export documents to the U.S. government, deliberately omitting Russia as the final destination. She also acknowledged to colleagues that her clients were using bank accounts in third-party countries because many were sanctioned by the USA.
