First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom will host a "California Love, California Strong" event in Los Angeles County on Sunday, May 3, 2026, to inaugurate Mental Health Awareness Month. The gathering will underscore California's significant investments in youth mental health support and efforts to strengthen social connection among young people.
The event, scheduled for approximately 3:00 p.m., will feature remarks from state leaders, including California Health and Human Services Secretary Kim Johnson and GO-Serve Director Josh Fryday, alongside local youth participants. Attendees will engage in field day-style activities designed to foster social connection, as well as community service opportunities and a resource fair.
This initiative aims to expand crucial mental health resources for youth across the state. The in-person event is open exclusively to credentialed media, who must RSVP by 10 a.m. on May 3 to receive location details.
