First Partner Newsom to Kick Off Mental Health Awareness Month in LA

First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom will host a "California Love, California Strong" event in Los Angeles County on Sunday, May 3, 2026, to inaugurate Mental Health Awareness Month. The gathering will underscore California's significant investments in youth mental health support and efforts to strengthen social connection among young people.

The event, scheduled for approximately 3:00 p.m., will feature remarks from state leaders, including California Health and Human Services Secretary Kim Johnson and GO-Serve Director Josh Fryday, alongside local youth participants. Attendees will engage in field day-style activities designed to foster social connection, as well as community service opportunities and a resource fair.
