American Airlines is launching a new feature that will allow eligible AAdvantage® members to combine cash and miles when booking flights, giving them more flexibility to redeem their rewards.
The feature will roll out in the coming weeks, the airline said. Once available, eligible AAdvantage® members will be able to use a mix of cash and miles when booking flights on aa.com and American's digital app.
The change expands how members can use their accumulated miles, moving beyond full-award redemptions to partial payments on bookings made through the airline's own digital channels.
American said the feature will be introduced progressively over the coming weeks, meaning not all eligible members will see the option at the same time. The airline did not specify an exact date for full availability.
The carrier framed the update as a way to give AAdvantage® members more flexibility when redeeming rewards. Further details are available on the airline's news site, news.aa.com.
