The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) is actively engaging residents through a series of community events and meetings designed to enhance communication and strengthen partnerships. These initiatives aim to bring officers and community members together, fostering a more informed and connected environment.
Upcoming events include a Personal Safety Presentation for College Students on Saturday, July 11, and Neighborhood Watch Training on Tuesday, July 14, both in West Springfield. Additionally, a "Coffee with a Cop" event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, in Reston, alongside a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) Meeting in Franconia on the same day.
Beyond these community gatherings, the FCPD is offering free summer programs for young adults and teens interested in law enforcement. One such program, "Future Women Leaders in Law," running from July 27-31, is designed for high school-aged girls in Northern Virginia, focusing on leadership, aviation, patrol operations, and networking with women leaders within the department. The deadline to apply for this program is July 13.
