Among the new laws, S-3463/A-4790 makes changes to the regulation of health care service firms, while S-4404/A-5295 revises alcoholic beverage licensing. A-1516/S-1116 exempts poll worker wages from affecting unemployment compensation, and A-2132/S-3786 requires paratransit vehicle operators to announce stops for passengers.
Further legislative actions include A-4075/S-3985, which authorizes the Department of Health to establish international public health partnerships. A-4375/S-3740 specifies electric vehicle parking space calculations, ensuring rounded-up spaces do not reduce overall parking supply by more than 10 percent. Additionally, A-4947/S-4219 revises continuing education for real estate licensees.
The new laws also include A-5154/S-4417, requiring juries to determine if certain defendants are persistent offenders, and A-5169/S-4331, authorizing the HMFA to support pre-purchase homebuyer counseling.
