U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers conducted a nationwide operation over the weekend, arresting individuals convicted of serious crimes including murder, sexual assault of children, aggravated assault, and drug trafficking.
Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis highlighted the agency's dedication, stating, "While Americans were enjoying their weekends, the men and women of ICE law enforcement were working around the clock to arrest criminal illegal aliens convicted for murder, child sexual abuse, assault, and drug trafficking." Bis added that nearly 70% of ICE arrests involve individuals charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S.
Among those arrested were Omar Alejandro Radillo-Gonzalez, convicted for second-degree murder in Fontana, California; Rafael Aquino-Mateo, convicted for continuous sexual abuse of a child in Los Angeles; and Osman Meaz-Romero, convicted for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Nebraska. Other arrests included individuals with convictions for aggravated manslaughter, child molestation, and various forms of assault across multiple states.
Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE affirmed its commitment to continue making America safe by removing criminal illegal aliens from communities.
