LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen announced today that some guests exposed to hantavirus, who had been quarantined at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's (UNMC) National Quarantine Unit (NQU) in Omaha, are now returning home. This follows UNMC's announcement regarding their departure.
The decision for the guests to return home was made in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and their respective home state governments. The individuals had been under quarantine at the Omaha facility.
Governor Pillen issued a statement acknowledging the departure of these guests, marking a significant step in the public health response.
