The Fairfax County Police Department has announced new leadership for its Mason District Station, with a new Commander and Assistant Commander taking the helm. Both leaders expressed a strong commitment to fostering community partnerships and enhancing public safety through collaborative efforts.
The new Commander, a Fairfax County native, brings experience from patrol, investigations, and leading the Crisis Intervention Team. They said that effective public safety relies on strong partnerships, open communication, and trust between the police department and the community. The Commander looks forward to engaging with residents, businesses, and community leaders to understand and address local priorities.
The new Assistant Commander, who has served Fairfax County since 2005 across various district stations and specialized bureaus, is dedicated to building on existing relationships and forming new ones. They aim to work collaboratively with the community to ensure Mason District remains a safe and strong area.
The station also highlighted recent community engagement, including collecting over 500 backpacks for local children. Opportunities for community involvement include volunteering with the Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) program, participating in National Night Out, and joining the Community Advisory Committee to help shape neighborhood initiatives.
