The Heritage Foundation recently addressed critical national and domestic policy issues, including the future of Iran's regime, the impact of federal mortgage policies on housing, and concerns over the Smithsonian Institution's leadership.
Bob Peters, director of the Allison Center for National Security, emphasized the U.S. military's impact on Iran's resources and asserted, "We support the free flow of navigation and goods and services across international waterways, which the Straight of Hormuz is. Iran does not have the right to close that straight."
Domestically, John Gibbs, director of the Institute for Economic Policy Studies, highlighted how decades of government-backed mortgages have driven up home prices. Gibbs wrote, "This arrangement likely increases housing demand faster than supply can keep up with it, placing continual upward pressure on prices."
Furthermore, Heritage President Dr. Kevin Roberts, alongside co-host Larry O’Connor, discussed what they perceive as "Marxist ideologies underpinning the modern Smithsonian." Roberts said, "It’s all about leadership, in any institution. Congress and the administration have control over who sits on the Smithsonian board. If you look at performance, it is time for new leadership." Senior Research Fellow Mike Gonzalez has also worked to expose these issues.
