Willie Redd, 45, of Naugatuck, was sentenced yesterday in Hartford to 42 months in prison and three years of supervised release for his involvement in a Waterbury-area drug trafficking organization.
U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea delivered the sentence after Redd pleaded guilty on April 15, 2024, to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances. Redd had been detained since February 26, 2026, following the revocation of his bond.
The investigation, led by the FBI’s Waterbury Safe Streets Gang Task Force, targeted two drug rings in Waterbury, one headed by Angel Quiros and another by Daniel Diaz-Rivera. These organizations distributed cocaine, crack, and fentanyl, sharing supply sources and operating extensively. The probe utilized wiretaps, surveillance, GPS tracking, and controlled narcotics purchases.
Redd was identified as a distributor within the Quiros organization. The broader investigation led to the arrest of Redd, Quiros, Diaz-Rivera, and 14 associates on November 29, 2023. During these arrests, law enforcement seized approximately 700 grams of crack cocaine, over 900 vials of crack, about 200 grams of loose fentanyl, more than 1,600 dose bags of fentanyl/heroin, two stolen firearms, ammunition, and over $39,000 in cash. Quiros was previously sentenced to 63 months, and Diaz-Rivera received 210 months.
