Virginia State Parks are inviting visitors to enjoy a variety of activities for Labor Day weekend and throughout September, marking the transition from summer to fall with special events and new park features.
First Landing State Park has introduced several updates, including a new all-terrain wheelchair and a free-use Beach Box with gear. The park is also undergoing cabin renovations and features new visitor center exhibits and a Bay Lab, offering enhanced experiences before the season concludes.
September's offerings across the parks include twilight hikes at Sky Meadows State Park and a focus on outdoor adventures and live music. Visitors are also encouraged to participate in National Public Lands Day on September 26, an opportunity to contribute to the preservation of public lands.
Virginia State Parks also seek individuals for various roles, from maintenance to education, to help maintain these natural landscapes and ensure welcoming environments for all visitors.
