Media Monitor: Breaking Defense Reports on Defense Innovation, Space War, and China Threat

Breaking Defense is reporting that Northrop Grumman is advancing its Project Talon portfolio, including Talon Blue CCA and the Talon IQ testbed ecosystem on the M437 aircraft. It said these initiatives aim to deliver trusted, flexible mission autonomy and future combat airpower.

Separately, Breaking Defense said SPACECOM is preparing for its Space Warfighting Environment 2040, which emphasizes a "warfighter-first" approach. The command is focusing on potential attacks on ground segments and eyeing cislunar operations.

Taiwan has proposed a record $35 billion defense budget, which requires approval from its opposition-controlled legislature. The Army's principal cyber advisor stated that dedicated funding is crucial for artificial intelligence in cyber defenses, as current operational budgets are insufficient for such work.
