An Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) officer, Vincent Baglio, 31, has been arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding following an investigation into off-duty conduct that occurred on May 24, 2026.
The alleged incident, reported to police on June 30, 2026, involved Baglio and a victim known to him, inside a residence. During a conversation, Baglio allegedly physically assaulted the victim and made threatening statements. Baglio, who was hired in June 2024, has been placed on administrative leave.
Chief Andy Penn addressed the allegations, saying, "I want to assure our community that the serious criminal allegations in this case represent conduct that is wholly unacceptable and fundamentally inconsistent with the values, standards and responsibilities of our agency." He added that the department is committed to accountability and will conduct both a comprehensive criminal investigation and an internal administrative investigation.
