The U.S. Census Bureau today released new data tables detailing the educational characteristics of individuals aged 3 and over, based on the 2024 School Enrollment Supplement.
The data reveals that in 2024, 23.4% of this population was enrolled in school. Among those enrolled, 11.3% were in nursery school or kindergarten, while 42.7% attended elementary school.
High school enrollment accounted for 22.8% of the student population, and 23.2% were enrolled in college, encompassing both undergraduate and graduate programs. The Census Bureau and the National Center for Education Statistics jointly sponsored the October 2024 School Enrollment Supplement.
