Nahro Sudoi Innab, 70, has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for two murder-for-hire plots, following his conviction by a Raleigh jury on January 14, 2026, for three counts of interstate phone calls in such a scheme.

Innab attempted to arrange the murders of three Rocky Mount small business owners, even after pleading guilty to similar conduct and while awaiting sentencing. He tried to pay other inmates $10,000 per murder, but a cooperating defendant informed the FBI and captured an audio recording of his plans.

U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle said Innab "wasted" his potential by "repeatedly trying to hire thugs to murder his perceived enemies," adding, "We will not tolerate this type of terror spreading behavior." FBI Special Agent in Charge Reid Davis thanked partner agencies, stating their "coordinated law enforcement efforts undoubtably saved lives."

The multi-year investigation involved the FBI, Rocky Mount Police Department, NC ALE, and the U.S. Marshals. U.S. District Judge James C. Dever III handed down the sentence, with Assistant United States Attorney John P. Newby, Jr. prosecuting the case.
