The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will host an open house on June 8 in Marseilles, Illinois, to discuss the LaSalle power plant's 2025 performance and address community questions. This event provides a direct opportunity for local residents to engage with NRC inspectors who continuously evaluate the plant.
The NRC's annual assessment concluded that the LaSalle plant operated safely throughout 2025. All inspection findings and performance indicators were of very low safety significance, ensuring both units remain under the agency’s normal level of oversight, which involves thousands of inspection hours each year.
Operated by Constellation Energy Generation, the plant's two units are located in Marseilles. The open house is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central time at the Marseilles Public Library, 155 E. Bluff St. The NRC Reactor Oversight Process utilizes color-coded findings and performance indicators to measure plant performance.
