A joint report from NOAA and the USAF forecasts low solar activity with a chance for M-class and X-class flares, alongside an expectation of active to severe geomagnetic storm levels on June 5th.

Solar activity has remained low over the past 24 hours, with eight numbered sunspot regions currently visible on the solar disk. However, forecasters anticipate a 50% chance for M-class flares and a 10% chance for X-class flares daily from June 5th to June 7th.

The geomagnetic field, which has been quiet to unsettled, is predicted to reach active to severe storm levels on June 5th. This is expected to be followed by a decrease to quiet to active levels on June 6th and quiet to unsettled levels on June 7th. Observed solar wind speed peaked at 481 km/s, with electrons greater than 2 MeV reaching 552 pfu. The forecast indicates a significant increase in geomagnetic activity for the immediate future.
