The Library of Congress, in partnership with the Eastern Oklahoma Library System, launched an immersive digital experience titled “Memories in the Current” in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on May 16. This new exhibit at the Muskogee Public Library projects rivers of text across walls and floors, combining local Oklahoma residents' memories with historical accounts from the Library of Congress's digital collections.

“Memories in the Current” is part of the Library’s LOCal initiative, a grant-funded pilot program designed to connect Americans with the Library of Congress's digital resources through co-designed experiences with public libraries.

The Library of Congress announced its partnerships with the Eastern Oklahoma and Cleveland Public Library Systems in July 2025, leading to projects like this innovative digital experience.
