Governor Abigail Spanberger announced today that Spatial Front, Inc., a privately held information technologies firm, will relocate its corporate headquarters from Bethesda, Maryland, to Arlington, Virginia, investing $6 million and creating 450 new jobs.

Founded in 2008, Spatial Front provides mission-critical IT and professional services primarily to U.S. federal agencies. Its core capabilities include geospatial technologies, AI and machine learning, systems integration, and digital modernization. The move to Arlington's National Landing positions the company closer to key customers and partners.

Governor Spanberger said she is "proud that Spatial Front is moving its headquarters to Arlington," adding that the decision "reaffirms Virginia’s status as the nation’s premier location for defense and technology innovation." Secretary of Commerce and Trade Carrie Chenery noted the relocation reflects confidence in Virginia's "skilled workforce, commitment to innovation, and economic future."

Spatial Front CEO Amy Gao highlighted Virginia's "highly skilled workforce and a supportive business climate," stating the expansion is a "natural next step in our growth." Arlington County Board Chair Matt de Ferranti welcomed Spatial Front to the "thriving ecosystem" of the National Innovation Quarter.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Arlington County secured the project. Governor Spanberger approved a $500,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist Arlington, with additional support for employee training provided through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
