The recall affects products distributed to retail stores nationwide.
The recalled cat food, in 2 lbs. bags (Lot B-5, Best By 01/26/2028, UPC 087316384956), totals 1,272 lbs. The dog food, in 6 lbs. bags (Lot B-19, Best By 01/25/2028, UPC 087316380392), totals 684 lbs. These pathogens pose a health risk to animals consuming the products and to humans handling contaminated pet food or infected pets.
People exposed to Salmonella may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever, while Listeria monocytogenes can cause symptoms like headache, fever, confusion, and loss of balance, with higher risks for vulnerable populations. Pets may show lethargy, diarrhea, fever, or vomiting. Consumers are advised to contact healthcare providers or veterinarians if symptoms occur after contact. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this voluntary recall.
