Governor Sherrill Re-establishes Judicial Advisory Panel for New Jersey Courts

Governor Mikie Sherrill today signed Executive Order 22, continuing the Judicial Advisory Panel tasked with assisting in the evaluation of candidates for appointment to the Superior Court of New Jersey and Supreme Court of New Jersey. This order ensures the ongoing process for judicial selections.

The executive order establishes an eight-member panel, which must include at least five former judges. Governor Sherrill will be responsible for designating the panel's chair. The panel's composition aims to bring experienced legal minds to the critical task of judicial candidate assessment.

The members of the Judicial Advisory Panel include Justice Jaynee LaVecchia (Ret.) as Chair, Chief Justice James R. Zazzali (Ret.), Justice Virginia A. Long (Ret.), Justice Lee A. Solomon (Ret.), Honorable Julio Mendez (Ret.), Honorable Bonnie Mizdol (Ret.), Honorable Charles Dortch (Ret.), and John Keefe, Jr. Esq.
