Justyn Arch, a 40-year-old Florida man, has been sentenced to 36 months in prison and ordered to pay $520,897 in restitution after pleading guilty to health care fraud, aggravated identity theft, and tax evasion. The sentencing was handed down by United States District Court Judge Philip P. Simon, as announced by U.S. Attorney Adam L. Mildred.
Arch, who served as vice president of a dental practice with locations in Chesterton and Crown Point, Indiana, defrauded Indiana Medicaid by submitting false claims for hundreds of dental surgeries that were never performed. He illegally used patients' personal identifiers to support these fraudulent claims over a period exceeding two and a half years. To conceal the illicit income, Arch also engaged in tax evasion.
U.S. Attorney Adam L. Mildred said, "The Defendant bilked Indiana Medicaid out of money set aside to help members of our community with their medical bills and the Internal Revenue Service of over half a million dollars combined." Mildred credited the combined efforts of multiple agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Indiana Attorney General’s Office Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, and the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation Division, for the successful prosecution. This case aligns with the Department of Justice's National Fraud Enforcement Division's mission and President Trump’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.
