The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will host a hybrid workshop on June 15 to discuss critical topics related to developing advanced reactor technology. The all-day event will cover structural materials, design codes, materials management, and advanced reactor materials licensing.
The workshop is scheduled for Monday, June 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time. Participants can attend in person in Rockville, Md., or virtually. Instructions for in-person attendance are available in the meeting notice.
The NRC, an expert technical agency, is responsible for protecting public health, safety, and security by regulating the civilian use of nuclear materials. The agency issues licenses, conducts inspections, and enforces regulations. It is also collaborating with interagency partners to implement reforms outlined in new Executive Orders and the ADVANCE Act, aiming to streamline activities and enhance efficiency.
