The incident, which occurred at the Victory Park Apartment Homes, left the minor victim injured, though no other individuals were harmed.
Tyler Police Department officers responded to the scene at approximately 10:45 p.m., recovering over thirty shell casings and additional evidence. Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related, with the five-year-old identified as an innocent bystander. Authorities suspect multiple male individuals were involved in the incident.
