The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is addressing what it describes as unconstitutional crackdowns on free speech. CAIR's Deputy Litigation Director, Gadier Abbas, recently appeared on CNN to discuss the issue, highlighting the detention of Resa Oturk, a Turkish PhD student. Oturk was arrested after co-authoring an op-ed supporting Palestinian rights.

Gadier Abbas stated, "Everyone in the United States, no matter their immigration status, has First Amendment rights. And we (CAIR) won’t let those rights be stripped away.”

CAIR is offering a free protection card as a resource to protect individuals and families. Nihad Awad, National Executive Director of CAIR, emphasized the importance of protecting free speech and justice. "Together, we are protecting the next generation of leaders and ensuring that free speech and justice remain cornerstones of our democracy," said Awad.
