Governor Jim Pillen announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has designated additional Nebraska counties as disaster areas due to ongoing drought conditions, making farmers in these regions eligible for crucial loan assistance.
This approval includes two primary counties and 11 contiguous counties, allowing them to access support through the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA). The designation comes as the number of Nebraska counties severely impacted by drought continues to increase, highlighting the growing need for federal aid to agricultural producers.
