Auditors from the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (OIG) have identified multiple operational deficiencies within USPS delivery services in the Eugene, Oregon, area. The audit, which covered the Eugene Local Processing Center (LPC) and three associated delivery units, revealed significant concerns across several key areas.
At the delivery units, auditors found problems including delayed mail, inadequate package scanning, compromised arrow key security, and poor property conditions. Additionally, one unit was observed failing to attempt delivery of advertisement mailpieces.
The Eugene LPC also exhibited issues in four reviewed areas. These included delayed mail, concerns regarding safety and security protocols, and problems with scanner accountability. The OIG's interim reports detail these findings, highlighting areas needing immediate attention to improve postal delivery operations in the region.
