A federal grand jury has indicted Christopher James Hill, 32, of Wilmington, North Carolina, for allegedly threatening President Donald J. Trump.
According to the indictment, Hill posted public comments on Facebook.com between October 3, 2025, and October 13, 2025, that contained threats to kill and injure the President. If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
W. Ellis Boyle, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, made the announcement. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) are jointly investigating the case. The details in the charging document are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
