TIME Health is reporting on a range of health and wellness topics in its latest newsletter, including a technique for managing stress and a major food recall.

It said singer Taylor Swift's coping mantra is telling herself "You chose this," a way of reclaiming control over a career she loves but sometimes finds overwhelming. TIME Health said readers can find their own mantra by asking what their brain tends to forget under pressure, then choosing a phrase of four words or fewer that is simple, specific and true. Examples it offered include "Discomfort, not danger" and "I can't know that yet." It said people should practice the phrase when the stakes are low so they can summon it when needed.

TIME Health also reported that Star Meat Delivery in North Carolina recalled 167,639 pounds of raw beef, pork and goat after the products were not properly inspected by federal health officials. It said the meat bore a "false USDA mark of inspection," according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Separately, TIME Health highlighted health coverage from other outlets. It said Scientific American's Rachel Feltman examined which gut-optimization tips are worth trying, a practice known as "poop maxxing." It said the Guardian looked at a University of Pittsburgh experiment that rewarded students for getting enough sleep. It also said BBC Future's Jasmin Fox-Skelly explored what general anesthesia can teach researchers about the brain.

TIME Health said it welcomes reader questions on health and wellness topics, which it plans to address weekly in the newsletter.
