Mayor Karen Bass, joined by LAFD Chief Jaime Moore and community leaders from the San Fernando Valley, provided an update today on two brush fires in Encino that are now contained.

An evacuation warning, issued out of an abundance of caution, was quickly lifted due to the Los Angeles Fire Department's aggressive response. Firefighters remain at the scene to ensure there are no significant flare-ups.

Mayor Bass thanked the "brave firefighters who were already on top of it," noting their aggressive and proactive approach. She urged residents to be prepared during fire season, monitor their surroundings, and follow all instructions, emphasizing that "the safety of Angelenos is our top priority."

The city is closely monitoring the incident and coordinating resources across all departments. Chief Moore was expected to provide further details on the fire department's response.
