Fairfax County Police Department detectives have arrested Eliseo Perez, a Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) teacher, for alleged inappropriate contact with a student. The investigation began on June 4 after administrators at Cooper Middle School reported concerns regarding a teacher's behavior.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad determined that Perez, 35, of King George, a Special Education teacher at Cooper Middle School, engaged in unlawful and inappropriate contact with a student on two occasions in May 2026. Perez turned himself in and was subsequently charged with two counts of Simple Assault, held on a $4,000 bond.

Perez was placed on administrative leave when the allegations surfaced and is now suspended without pay. He has been employed with FCPS as a teacher since 2025. Victim specialists from the Victim Services Division are providing resources and assistance to the victim.
