Ukrop's Homestyle Foods has initiated a recall of approximately 22,880 pounds of baked spaghetti and chicken cobbler products due to potential contamination with foreign material, specifically metal slivers, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The affected items were produced between July 1 and July 29, 2026, and distributed to retail locations in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, the Department of Defense, and through online sales.
The recall includes 62.4-oz. and 14.8-oz. "Ukrop's Baked Spaghetti" and 48-oz. and 11.6-oz. "Ukrop's Chicken Cobbler" products. These items bear "BEST BY" dates ranging from 07/08/26 through 08/05/26 and carry establishment numbers "EST. 19979" or "P-19979" in the mark of inspection.
The issue came to light following a consumer complaint about a metal piece discovered in a fully cooked product. While there have been no confirmed reports of injuries, FSIS urges consumers not to consume these recalled products. They should be discarded immediately or returned to the point of purchase.
FSIS is conducting effectiveness checks to ensure the recalled products are no longer available to consumers. Further information regarding retail distribution will be posted on the FSIS website.
