The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona announced that 365 individuals faced immigration-related criminal charges during enforcement operations conducted from June 19 to June 26, 2026.
These charges included 149 cases of illegal re-entry into the United States and 188 cases of illegal entry. Additionally, 22 cases were filed against 28 individuals accused of smuggling illegal aliens into and within the District of Arizona. Federal law enforcement partners, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Border Patrol, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, supported these efforts.
The enforcement actions are part of "Operation Take Back America," a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at deterring illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime. One notable case involved Hernan Roberto Acosta-Valdez, charged with transportation of an illegal alien after a vehicle pursuit and crash. Another case saw Mauricio Loza-Rivera charged with reentry of a removed alien, having been previously removed in 2018 and convicted of a narcotics offense in 2015. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
