The Missouri River Expo, described as the Midwest's largest outdoor expo, will feature fishing, bowfishing, fried fish and grilled trout samples, vendor displays, and cooking demonstrations. Attendees can also enter a Half-Price Youth Lifetime Permit Drawing, making it an ideal event for families to explore new outdoor skills.
The workshop at Chadron State Park on October 10 will teach the basics of fly-fishing and fly-tying, with all necessary equipment and materials provided. For those seeking late summer fishing advantages, Daryl Bauer suggests using grasshoppers as bait, noting their importance as a food source for many fish species in late summer and early fall. Additionally, anglers can embark on the Trout Slam challenge, aiming to catch and photograph Nebraska's four trout species: brook, brown, rainbow, and cutthroat, available year-round in cold-water locations.
