Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will mark Thursday, September 10, with events on a post-production tax incentive, a mobility project and TPS for Salvadoran Angelenos.

At 8:00 a.m., Bass, Assemblymember Nick Schultz and other state, city and entertainment leaders will call on Governor Newsom to sign Assembly Bill 2319, creating the state’s first post-production tax incentive and supporting thousands of entertainment industry jobs in Los Angeles.

At 9:00 a.m., Bass will join the groundbreaking of a major new mobility project prioritized and funded through her Capital Infrastructure Program, launched earlier this year to build and upgrade L.A.’s critical infrastructure. Over the last three decades, the lack of a Capital Infrastructure Program has led to systemic underfunding of infrastructure Angelenos rely on every day, and Bass is working to change that.

At 10:00 a.m., Bass will join labor and immigrant rights leaders to call for full preservation of Temporary Protected Status for Salvadoran Angelenos amid federal uncertainty. Bass yesterday called on Congress to act and create a permanent pathway to citizenship for TPS holders.

“Salvadoran Angelenos are not outsiders to this city. They are Los Angeles,” said Mayor Bass. “And when their families are threatened, our city stands with them.”
