U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested criminal illegal aliens across the country over the weekend, targeting individuals convicted of serious offenses including sexual assault of a minor, attempted murder, and conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. These arrests are part of ongoing efforts to remove public safety threats from communities nationwide.
Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin emphasized the agency's commitment, saying, "While Americans enjoyed their weekend, the patriots of ICE worked around the clock to remove attempted murderers, pedophiles, sexual assailants, drug traffickers, and other public safety threats from our communities." He added that ICE continues to "supercharge our efforts to fulfill President Trump’s mandate from the American people to arrest and remove illegal aliens from our country."
Among those apprehended were Edison Javier Bueno-Tenempaguay from Ecuador, convicted for sexual assault of a minor in New Jersey, and Nestor Vasquez from El Salvador, convicted for attempted murder and possession of heroin in Ohio. Also arrested was Isai Munoz-Fernandez from Mexico, convicted for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl in Utah. Other arrests included individuals convicted of aggravated assault, robbery, and illegal re-entry into the United States.
ICE reiterated its stance, stating, "If you are in our country illegally, we will find you, arrest you, and deport you." The agency continues its operations to enforce immigration laws and enhance public safety.
