The department emphasizes community, nature, and belonging through its "The Power Of" theme for July.
Key July events include a musical celebration of America's 250th anniversary by the Quantico Marine Corps Band at Lubber Run Community Center on July 9. Children aged 3-5 can explore fireflies in special Pre-K programs on July 9 and 25. Teens have a dedicated summer kickoff on July 10 at Arlington Mill Community Center, leading into a series of events, culminating in a "Glow n' Float" pool party at Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center on July 24. Additionally, LibraryFest on July 18 at Central Library will offer an all-day community festival with performances and historic craft demonstrations.
Looking ahead to August, the Arlington County Fair will celebrate its 50th anniversary from August 12-16 at Thomas Jefferson Community Center, promising rides, games, and entertainment. Registration for fall adult indoor soccer and softball leagues is also open, with deadlines on August 2 and August 30, respectively. Community Movie Nights at Arlington Mill Community Center will continue to offer free outdoor film screenings.
