Jevaunte Reese, the final defendant in a Salt Lake County credit union ATM robbery, was sentenced today to five years in prison and three years of supervised release.
Reese, 33, of Houston, Texas, pleaded guilty to credit union robbery on March 30, 2026. His co-defendants, Lashawn Charleswell, Tiras Jack, Harold Oliver, and Calvin Brantley, were sentenced in 2025. All defendants were ordered to pay $4,309.00 jointly and severally in restitution.
The robbery occurred on September 11, 2024, at a Mountain America Credit Union in Taylorsville, Utah. Reese admitted he and his co-defendants disabled the ATM, then waited for a technician. When the technician arrived, he was pushed to the ground, and a cash box containing $200,000 was stolen.
Law enforcement, including the Taylorsville Police Department and FBI Salt Lake City Field Office, identified the vehicles and apprehended the defendants at a rest stop in Paragonah, Utah. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative targeting violent crime and transnational criminal organizations.
