TIME is reporting that a new study suggests people in the U.S. are experiencing healthier final years with fewer functional limitations. It said this finding comes despite common fears about declining health in old age, indicating a rosier outlook for the end of life.
Separately, TIME noted that technology executives at the Cannes Lions festival warned about the human cost of the internet, describing it as the "largest social experiment." They advocated for a healthier online environment, particularly for young people.
The publication also highlighted mental-health experts' concerns regarding the frequent misuse of psychology terms such as "gaslighting" and "narcissist," stating that this can be problematic. Additionally, TIME offered eight strategies to encourage more reading, including starting small, tracking progress, exploring different formats, and engaging with reading communities.
