Governor Gretchen Whitmer today announced the appointment of Judge Jason Bomia to the 37th Circuit Court in Calhoun County. Judge Bomia, currently the chief judge on the 10th District Court in Calhoun County, will fill a partial term following the resignation of Judge Brian K. Kirkham, with his term set to expire on January 1, 2029.
"I am proud to appoint Judge Jason Bomia to the 37th Circuit Court," said Governor Whitmer. "Judge Bomia is a skilled legal professional who brings years of experience and dedication to his community. I am confident that he will serve the people of Michigan admirably and uphold the rule of law."
Judge Bomia has served on the 10th District Court since 2019 and previously worked as an attorney at Schroeder DeGraw, PLLC. He is a life member of the Battle Creek Chapter of the NAACP, past president of the Calhoun County Bar Association, and president-elect of the District Judges Association. He also serves on the board of Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan’s Heartland.
