Radio New Zealand is reporting that Prime Minister Christopher Luxon is demanding answers from multiple agencies regarding vetting procedures after the resignation of his deputy chief press secretary, Michael Forbes. RNZ said Forbes resigned after accusations he recorded audio of sessions with sex workers and took intrusive photos of women.
Separately, RNZ said a Wellington brothel madam is calling for changes to privacy laws after Forbes allegedly recorded a session with a sex worker.
In other news, RNZ is reporting that three people have been charged with manslaughter in connection to the Loafers Lodge fire that killed five people.
RNZ also notes that Parliament is debating the proposed punishment for Te Pāti Māori MPs' Treaty Principles haka.
