Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has appointed Steve Kueter of Paragould as the newest member of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, where he will serve a seven-year term until 2033. Kueter replaces outgoing Commission Chairwoman Anne Marie Doramus, with Rob Finley stepping in as the new Commission Chairman.
Governor Sanders praised Kueter, saying, "Steve has spent his life helping steward our natural resources while preserving our state's rich outdoor heritage for future generations." She added that his background as a lifelong outdoorsman and third-generation aquaculture farmer brings "decades of experience in conservation, agriculture, and public service."
Kueter expressed his honor, remarking on the Commission's past successes. "In my lifetime there have been so many success stories facilitated by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission," said Steve Kueter, recalling the scarcity of deer and turkeys in his youth compared to their current abundance. He emphasized his commitment to continuing the Commission's work. Kueter holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management from Arkansas State University and owns Kueter's Fish Company, Inc. He also serves on several boards, including Craighead Electric Cooperative Corporation and the Arkansas Catfish Promotion Board.
