The Washington Post is reporting that new research indicates cannabis suppresses REM sleep, raising questions about its impact on memory, emotion and the purpose of dreams.

A Washington Post analysis found that baby boomers, despite being the wealthiest generation, may not pass on significant inheritances to their children. It said growing old is eroding the wealth Americans hoped to leave behind, with many potentially having nothing to pass on.

Separately, a Washington Post-Ipsos poll found that most Americans hold a negative view of Donald Trump's projects in and around Washington, including a ballroom, pool and arch. It said many respondents were skeptical about his motivations for these projects.

The Post is also reporting that protesters gathered in Madison, Wisconsin, after a man was fatally shot by a police officer during an attempted arrest in the Marquette neighborhood. It said a graphic video of the incident quickly spread online.
