A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck the Fox Islands region of Alaska's Aleutian Islands on September 2, 2026, at 05:14:00 UTC.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported the seismic event had a depth of 35 kilometers and was centered at 52.119N, 169.295W. It occurred approximately 95.9 kilometers (59.5 miles) southwest of Nikolski, Alaska.

This preliminary report, which supersedes a previous event, has been reviewed by a seismologist. The earthquake was also located about 1551.7 kilometers (962.0 miles) southwest of Anchorage.
