The Washington Post is reporting that the U.S. men’s national team began the tournament it is co-hosting with a dominant win. It said the team overwhelmed Paraguay with a first-half scoring squall, which raised hopes, expectations and the noise level inside the stadium. The U.S. defeated Paraguay 4-1 in the opener as the World Cup returns to American soil.
